With help from the Norton Healthcare Foundation, Norton Cancer Institute provides prevention, diagnosis, full-service treatment, clinical trials and survivorship services to those in our community who have many different kinds of cancer. With its longstanding reputation for excellence, Norton Cancer Institute helps more than half of the cancer patients in our area.

The region’s first cancer prevention and early detection program provides comprehensive free cancer screenings, individual cancer risk assessments, community risk reduction education and follow-up services.

Through participation in many research studies, Norton Cancer Institute is frequently able to offer patients the latest, most advanced therapies that may not be available elsewhere. In addition, Norton Cancer Institute provides radiation treatment, infusion centers and less invasive surgeries with the da Vinci robotic surgical system.

It doesn’t stop with prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Norton Cancer Institute believes that cancer patients and their families need additional support offered through Norton Healthcare’s Cancer Resource Centers and a Survivorship Program, which provides a special level of care for patients through comprehensive clinical support, education and resources. The goal of the Norton Cancer Institute Survivorship Program is to address important patient issues such as health consequences of therapy, screening for other cancers, counseling for family members and/or caregivers, risk assessment and maintaining long-term patient-physician contact to ensure sharing of relevant information on new drugs and therapies.

Norton Healthcare Foundation

As the philanthropic arm of the not-for-profit Norton Healthcare adult service hospitals, the Norton Healthcare Foundation raises funds each year to make a difference for programs, equipment and facilities, research and education at Norton Cancer Institute, Norton Hospital, Norton Audubon Hospital, Norton Suburban Hospital and the new Norton Brownsboro Hospital, opening in 2009.
