1. How do I register for The Ride to Conquer Cancer online?

Click here and complete the form. You will be guided through the registration process. Once your transaction is complete, you will receive a confirmation email receipt.

2. What is unique about this website?

This website is so unique because it allows individuals not only to register for the event, but also to collect donations through their online Personal Page. You can track the progress of donation collections by viewing secured online reports.

 

3. Can friends and family make a donation to a participant by clicking through the main website?

Yes. On the home page of the website, friends and family can locate a Rider or Crew Member by clicking on the "Sponsor a Participant" button. By typing in the name of the participant, they will be directed to the participant's Personal Page. (You may also locate a participant by entering their Participant ID Number or their team name.)

 

4. Is a portion of the registration fee a donation?

No. Your registration fee does not apply towards your fundraising minimum.

 

5. How much money raised by The Ride to Conquer Cancer goes to the cause?

The funds you raise through The Ride to Conquer Cancer will help generate the funds necessary to ensure that everyone in our community who needs cancer care will find the help they need at Norton Cancer Institute. The more money we raise, the more stays with Norton Cancer Institute. 

 

6. How does Norton Cancer Institute utilize the contributions?

Norton Cancer Institute provides prevention, diagnosis, full-service treatment and survivorship services to those in our community who have many different kinds of cancer. With its longstanding reputation for excellence, Norton Cancer Institute helps more than half of the cancer patients in our area.

 

7. Can I donate using traditional mail?

Yes. Just mail in your check donation (we cannot accept cash) with a donation form that has the Participant ID Number of the Rider or Crew Member you are sponsoring. Participants can print donation forms directly from their Personal Pages. Go to your Personal Page, and select "To print out a donation form, click here". Give a form to donors who wish to mail in their donation. The address is right there on the form. If you are a donor, please follow the instructions for Question 3 above to get to the Personal Page, then click on the link on the left side of the Personal Page to download a copy of the donation form. You can also call our office at (877) 688-BIKE and we can mail or fax you a donation form.

8. Is my information secure?

Convio, the company responsible for housing and maintaining The Ride to Conquer Cancer website, has made every effort to protect your information. They use industry-standard SSL encryption techniques to make sure that your credit card information, passwords, and personal information travel securely over the internet. They have also installed an encryption engine on our database server so that your data is securely stored.

9. How is my credit card number handled?

Credit card numbers are not stored in our database. During the donation process we send your credit card number to an online processing terminal using a secure connection. The information passed back is an approval or denial for the credit card donation.

 

10. I forgot my username and password.

Remember that your username and password are case sensitive. You will receive an email with your username and password immediately after you register. On the login page you can also request that a reminder email be sent to you. If you still have difficulties, please contact our Ride Guides at (877) 688-BIKE  for help.

 

11. How do I change my password or update my personal profile?

Login to your personal page in the Participant Center using your username and password. Once you are logged in you will see a topic called "Updating Your Information." Select the links to update your password and personal profile. You will be able to change your contact information, email address, username, and password. All changes will be made to your account immediately. There is no need to sign back in. If you are having difficulties call our coaches at (877) 688-BIKE.
 
12. What is a Personal Page?

A Personal Page is a page you customize and ask your friends and family to visit when asking for donations. Once you register, by default you will have a Personal Page created for you. You have the option of personalizing the image, text and layout on your page by going to your Participant Center. Your Personal Page is where you can let friends and family know why you are taking part in this epic cycling conquest.

 

13. Do I have to use and change my Personal Page?

Once you register, by default you will have a Personal Page created for you, and your name will be listed in the participant database so that those wishing to donate to your fundraising can find you.

 

14. How do I change my personal fundraising goal?

You will need to login to your Participant Center. On the bottom right side of your Personal Page, you can click to modify your personal fundraising goal. Enter your new goal and submit the changes.

 

15. How can I see who has donated to me?

If you've chosen the default, you will automatically receive an email notifying you when a donation has been made. Or, you can login to the site using your Username and Password and go to your Personal Page. Click on the "My Progress" tab and you will be able to view your donor list and the amounts that have been donated.

 

16. How do I change my team name, team goal, and team page content?

Only the team captain has the ability to change these team settings. The team captain will need to login to his or her Participant Center and click the "My Team Progress" button on the top right. On the Team Progress Page, team captains will have the ability to update the team name, goal and the team photo and text.

 

17. How can I see who is on my team?

Login to the site using your Username and Password. Go to your Participant Center and click the "Team Progress" tab. From there you will be able to view your team roster and the amounts raised by each team member.

18. How do I change my team message?

Simply go to your Participant Center and click the "Update Message to Team" button. This will allow you to make all necessary changes to your team message.

 

19. How do I change a name on the Fundraising Honor Roll?

To update or change a name on the Fundraising Honor Roll, simply call us (877) 688-BIKE or send us an email at kentuckyguides@ridetovictory.org with the revised information and we will update your Fundraising Honor Roll for you.

 

20. How do I upload a photo to add to my Personal Page?

On your Personal Page, click the "Browse" button in the photo section, and then in the File Upload window that displays, select the photo you wish to place in that piece of the layout. Click Open.

The path to the file on your computer will display in the Browse text box. Also, the selected photo will show up in the cell. Note that you can only upload a photo in ".jpeg" format. So make sure that you have saved any photo that you wish to use in this format.


Click Upload and the new photo should show up. Please feel free to call us if you need any help with this.


21. How do donors obtain their tax receipts?

Donors who donate online with a valid email address will receive a tax receipt via email. Donors who mail in a donation will receive their receipt by email if they give a valid email address, and by mail if they do not give an email address but they do give a valid mailing address.


22. Why don’t you announce the route ahead of time?

Though the location of Opening Ceremonies, Camp, and Finish Line will be announced well in advance of The Ride to Conquer Cancer, the route will not be pre-announced. This is strictly a safety precaution as the route may have to change at the last minute due to traffic signal failures, broken water mains, or any other unforeseen issues. Therefore, we do not announce the route.
